MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR
of Gatineau City

Gatineau is honoured to host the 15th Pan-American Shito-ryu Karate-do Championships. Welcome to all of the participants in this major sporting event.

From August 3 to 5, 2012, Gatineau will welcome delegations from the four corners of the American continent, along with the top Japanese delegation in this discipline. Gatineau residents will have a marvelous opportunity to attend international calibre competitions.

I want to thank the organizers of this event, who chose to hold these high-level championships in Gatineau. I congratulate the senseis, heads of delegation, officials and participants, who will give many people the chance to learn more about this sport, which promotes personal excellence and respect for others.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful time in Gatineau, and I encourage you all to make the most of the many sports, cultural, natural and tourist attractions for which our city is so well known. I wish you all a wonderful event!
