I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations on the occasion of the 15th Pan American Shitoryu Karatedo Championships to be splendidly held in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada.

The World Shitoryu Karatedo Championships had been scheduled in September, 2012, in Tokyo. However, the earthquake and Tsunami attacked Eastern Japan on March 11, 2011 to destroy the nuclear power plants, which caused a huge damage by the diffusion of radioactive substances and so on. The members of World Shitoryu Kratedo Federation (WSKF) suffered damage by losing lives and houses. I sincerely appreciate gifts of a large number of money, other articles and encouragement letters sent from all over the world. Thanks to your support, we are striving for the recovery in the disaster area and I pray a quick recovery even one day earlier.

Therefore, we have decided to host the World Shioryu Championships that we had postponed upon the agreement of other countries, for three days between September 14 and 16 in 2013. You will be informed further details as soon as we decide them.

Shitoryu Karatedo, as following the teachings of Ryuso Kenwa Mabuni Sensei, has been spread in the world with “Kunshi no Ken” or good manners, mind, techniques and body. In the Pan-American region, Kunio Murayama Sensei, Shoko Sato Sensei, Koichi Choda Sensei and other instructors had made lots of effort for a long time. As a result, the World Shitoryu Karatedo Federation and its regional federations have been formed, and each of them has been developing. I deeply appreciate those Senseis who have been making efforts day and night to spread Shitoryu Karatedo.

I would expect that the athletes as representatives of each country will show their abilities and techniques that they have strictly trained regularly at their best, to bring victory to own countries. At the same time, please attract the audience by showing the charm of Karatedo.

Finally, I would offer homage to officials who have been making efforts to host the championships, and I pray that Pan-American Shitoryu Federation will develop more and more and that many happiness returns to the audience at the venue.

このたび、第１５回パン・アメリカン糸東流空手道選手権大会がカナダ、ケベック州ガティノ－市において盛大に開催されますことを心からお慶び申し上げます。
２０１２年９月世界糸東流空手道選手権大会を東京で開催予定でしたが、
２０１１年３月１１日東日本を襲った地震と津波、原子力発電所の崩壊による放射性物質の拡散などにより、甚大な被害を受け、当連盟会員の人命、居宅など多くの被害が出ました。国内はもとより、世界各国から多額の金品、激励の手紙をいただき厚くお礼を申し上げます。お陰様で被災地では懸命に復興をめざして努力しており、私どもも一日も早い復興を願っております。
よって、各国の承認を得て延期しました世界糸東流空手道選手権大会を2013年９月１４日から１６日の３日間、開催することに決定いたしました。細部につきましては、決定次第お知らせいたします。
糸東流空手道は、流祖摩文仁賢和先生の教えに則り、｢君子の拳｣即ち礼節と心、技、体をもって世界に普及されました。パン・アメリカン地区も村山邦夫先生、佐藤尚弘先生、長田耕一先生をはじめ、多くの指導者による永年の努力が実り、今日では、世界糸東流空手道連盟、各地区連盟が結成され、おのおのが発展の一途をたどっています。日夜努力され糸東流空手道を広めていただいております各先生方に深く感謝申し上げます。
国の代表として参加された選手諸君は、日頃から厳しく鍛錬をとおして培われた力と技を十二分に発揮され、自国に栄冠を持ち帰られますことを期待すると同時に、観衆の皆様に空手道の魅力を披露し感動を与えてください。
終りに、本大会開催にあたり役員の皆様方の努力に心から敬意を表し、パン・アメリカン糸東流空手道連盟の益々の発展と会場におられます皆様方に幸多かれと祈念申し上げ挨拶といたします。
