I sincerely congratulate you on hosting the 15th Pan-American Shitoryu Karatedo Championships in Quebec, Canada. I would like to use this opportunity to express my gratitude toward the Pan-American countries that sent us warm encouraging words to support us at the time of the Tohoku Earthquake last year. As one of Japanese citizens, I would like to thank them from my heart. Although reconstruction has just started, whoever loves Shitoryu Karatedo all over the world is cordially invited to the World Shitoryu Karatedo Championships to be held in the next year. We are now preparing for welcoming you.

I believe that holding this kind of championships in many areas contributes to the improvement of Karate techniques, which will be tremendous property of Shitoryu Karatedo in the future through the activities of friendship exchange among Karate practitioners.

There is always a winner or a loser in the competitions, however please keep “Don’t be proud and arrogant when you win. Don’t regret when you loose.” in your mind and try to show the results of all of your daily practice. I pray it will be a profoundly memorable championship.

Lastly I would like to thank you for those who are involved in the Championships. I believe that the development of Karatedo in the Pan-American area.

第１５回パンアメリカン糸東流選手権大会がカナダ・ケベックの地で開催されますことを心からお慶び申し上げます。　また、昨年の東日本大震災に際しパンアメリカン地区の各国から温かい励ましと支援をいただき、日本国の一員として心から御礼申し上げます。復興にはまだまだスタートした段階ですが、来年東京で開催されます世界糸東流空手道選手権大会には世界各国の糸東流空手道を愛する皆様を心より歓迎できるよう準備しておりますのでふるって。
各地区でこのような大会を開催できることでその地区の空手のレベルアップに寄与するとともに、大会を通じ空手家同士の交流を図れることで今後の糸東流空手道の大きな財産になると信じております。
競技において勝敗はつきものですが、「勝って驕らず負けて悔やまず」の気持ちで日頃の稽古の成果を存分に発揮して下さい。また、思い出深い大会であるよう祈念します。

最後に大会の開催に関与された方々に感謝するとともに、パンアメリカン地区の空手道の発展を信じ挨拶といたします
